Data Controller

OurDay is the data controller for personal data processed through ourday.be. For questions about your data, contact us at info@ourday.be.

Data We Collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal data:

• Account data — name, email address, and login credentials when you create an account
• Wedding data — couple names, wedding date, venue details, event schedules, accommodations, and page designs
• Invitee data — guest names, email addresses, phone numbers, dietary requirements, and RSVP responses, as provided by the account holder
• Payment data — billing information processed securely by our payment provider Mollie; we do not store credit card numbers
• Technical data — session identifiers for authentication purposes

Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following legal grounds:

• Contract performance — to provide the wedding planning service to account holders (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
• Legitimate interest — to manage guest invitations and RSVPs on behalf of the account holder (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
• Legal obligation — to comply with tax and accounting requirements for payment records (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)

Third-Party Processors

We share personal data with the following processors, all of which comply with GDPR:

• Mollie (Amsterdam, NL) — payment processing
• OVH (Roubaix, FR) — email delivery via SMTP
• Google Fonts — web typography. No cookies are set, but your IP address reaches Google when the fonts are loaded.
• OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — map tiles for venue display (no personal data shared)

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (wedding details, guest information, page designs) is permanently removed within 30 days. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Belgian accounting law.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — delete your account and all associated data
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
• Restriction — limit how we process your data
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest

To exercise these rights, email info@ourday.be. You can also delete your account directly from your profile settings.

If you believe your rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit): www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Cookies and browser storage

OurDay stores three small items on your device. All are functional; none is used to track you.

• PHPSESSID (cookie) — keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. On ourday.be it also remembers the language you picked, and on a wedding website it keeps you logged in as a guest after you enter your invitation code. The cookie itself holds only a random identifier; what it refers to stays on our server. Deleted when you close your browser.
• admin_lang (cookie) — remembers which language you chose for your account pages. Lasts one year.
• od-mode (your browser's local storage, not a cookie) — remembers whether you chose the light or the dark look with the sun/moon button, on ourday.be and on your dashboard (each keeps its own choice). It is only created when you click that button, it is never sent to us, and it stays until you set the button back to automatic or clear your browser data.

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we set no third-party cookies. EU ePrivacy rules apply to anything stored on your device, not only to cookies. Storage that is strictly necessary, or that remembers a preference you set yourself, needs no consent — which is why OurDay shows no cookie banner.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of OurDay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
